A village inn in Ham since 1840

Two old cottages knocked into one pub, with oak panelling, flagstone floors and a fire in the grate. The cooking is seasonal and British, the beer is local, there are rooms upstairs and the downs start at the door.
The name comes from Crown & Anchor, the dice game Ham’s farm workers once played here for money. You will still find a set by the window.

We back British farmers and award-winning local producers, and cook what the season gives us with a light, modern touch. Scotch eggs at the bar, a proper Sunday roast, supper clubs and tasting menus in the restaurant.

Five rooms above the pub and a three-bedroom stable cottage, each named after a local farm. Fine linen, very good mattresses, antique desks and 100 Acre Apothecary in the bathroom. Dogs welcome.

The Partridge Room

Named after the Bloomsbury set who lived at Ham Spray House from 1924. Oak beams, a log burner and doors onto the terrace, for birthdays, christenings, shoot dinners and board meetings. We write the menu with you.

Small weddings, done properly

Receptions in the Partridge Room and out on the garden terrace, with space for a marquee on bigger days, and rooms upstairs for the wedding party. Our newest chapter, and one we are looking forward to.
